A Manhattan judge refused on Thursday to dismiss bribery and other charges against Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey on the grounds that they violate constitutional protections afforded to members of Congress. Hemby, în funcţie de 11 ani, a fost lovită la mâini şi genunchi după ce a fost prinsă ca într-o menghină între uşile Capitoliului şi a fost stropită cu substanţe chimice pe faţă şi pe corp în timpul asaltului. „Mulţimea insurgentă, pe care Trump a inflamat-o, încurajat-o, incitat-o, ghidat-o, ajutat-o şi al cărei complice este, şi-a croit drum cu forţa în faţa semnatarilor plângerii şi colegilor lor, urmărindu-i şi agresându-i”, continuă ei. Cei doi poliţişti cer compensaţii în valoare de cel puţin 75.000 de dolari fiecare, precum şi plata unei amenzi al cărei cuantum nu este precizat.
